Chestnut Posts To Dandelion Time

Dandelion Time Chestnut Posts
Torry Hill are delighted to be helping Dandelion Time by supplying them with 21 chestnut posts 2.4m long and 6in in diameter.

How the chestnut posts were used

Dandelion Time is expanding to meet an increasing number of referrals for children and their families to its therapeutic programme.  One of the biggest challenges they face, as a result of the growth in demand, is lack of space within which to deliver their project sessions and training programme.

Dandelion 2Therefore the plan was to create an additional covered and open space within the grounds of Elmscroft for a variety of uses, providing them with the capability to work with more children and families.

Torry Hill could of course help with the materials needed and were glad to supply the chestnut posts.

As part of this space they have built a pergola to provide a covered outdoor eating area and a pizza oven with a wooden roof over the top.

And this is where the chestnut posts were used
Five of the posts were used by a group of volunteers from Cook Food based in Sittingbourne for the pizza oven roof (left) and the rest used by Kimberly Clark Volunteers for the pergola (above).
