Chestnut Posts and Stakes

Substantial chestnut fencing posts, designed for post and wire fencing, are available in lengths from 1.5m up to3m and top sizes 75mm-100mm upwards. The chestnut fencing posts are available with bark on or off, pointed in packs of 50. They are normally sold as a mixture of cleft half round and rounds.

Cleft chestnut fencing posts, split along the grain of the wood, are much more durable than sawn posts. We also supply chestnut straining posts in a variety of lengths and sizes up to 30-35cm tops and 3m long to suit all applications, peeled or with the bark on as required.

Chestnut stakes suitable for supporting and erecting chestnut pale fencing posts are available in lengths from 1.3m up to 2.5m. The chestnut stakes are supplied in packs of 50 or 100, and are both peeled and pointed.

All chestnut cleft post rail fencing stakes are made from chestnut at least 14 years old for maximum heart wood and tannin content, to increase their durability. Sawn chestnut stakes are ideal for temporary uses while round or cleft post rail fencing chestnut stakes should be used for more permanent applications.
