Great Higham Farm Accommodation
Great Higham Farm is a development of a range of traditional buildings providing accommodation for up to 34 people in a farm yard setting on the north face of the North Downs in Kent, with rolling downland to the south and orchards, and the Thames Estuary to the north. It forms part of a traditionally managed family owned estate, and is surrounded by orchards, arable ground and traditional Kentish chestnut coppice woods full of bluebells in spring.
Within the Torry Hill farm yard is a heated outdoor swimming pool which is in use from April to October (check dates) and a tennis court. The entire complex is heated by a state of the art biomass boiler, which uses woodchip from wood from the surrounding land. This carbon neutral installation won the South East of England Renewable Energy Award in 2006.
